Below you will find instructions on how to register for your IGCSE/International GCSE and school exams if you are a private candidate.
Register for your exam
You can register online. The normal registrations deadline is 8 August 2026.
You will need:
● An ID/Passport sized photograph
● A copy of an ID Card or a valid Passport; a birth certificate for applicants under the age of 16. Please note that a signed consent form is required for all minors( <18 years old). The form can be downloaded from our download documents below.

Normal Registration Deadline We strongly recommend that all candidates complete their registration and payment by 8 August 2026 to ensure there is ample time to provide support if any issues arise before the deadline. |

Pay for your exam
You will find the fees for all exams listed on the registration system. Your application will not be processed until you have paid for your exams in full.
Similarly, you will not be allowed to attend an exam if you have paid but have not completed the application and submitted this along with all required documents to the British Council for confirmation of your registration.
Pay Offline
To complete your registration please pay the required fee via a direct transfer (EFT) into the British Council account using the details below:

Once you have made the payment, please submit the proof of payment (bank transfer or deposit slip) and a copy of your identity document to info@britishcouncil.org.mz. You must include your Registration Reference Number in all communications.
Payment in full must be received by the registration deadline of 8 August 2026.

Late registration - penalty fees
There is a normal registration period for each exam session. You may still be able to register for exams after this date, but you will have to pay a penalty fee. You can find more information about late registration penalty fees from your British Council office.
Your registration is now complete
You have successfully registered for your exam with the British Council. You will receive your Statement of Entry and information about your examination venues approximately three weeks before your exams.
